The Old School House Gallery hosts exhibitions throughout the year, showing captivating and inspiring art from reputable artists. The Gallery is a beautiful space; its history as an old school house is fitting for a space that is welcoming, expands people’s perceptions, educates and inspires

The Gallery is used to celebrate both national and local art; we have been a part of the highly-regarded Presteigne Festival, Herefordshire Art Week and Shropshire Hills Art Week.

Printmaking Without Machines

Using Styrofoam, erasers and other craft material participants learned how to cut and print block printing stamps and then print them onto paper and card to create unique stamp art, suitable for use on gift cards, wrapping paper, labels etc...


Abstracting the Landscape

A full day of creative stimulation, this workshop used the inspiration from the landscape around Bleddfa to take participants into an exploration of the techniques of abstract art.

Life Drawing

Our half-way and full-day Life Drawing Mornings are untutored workshops suitable for artists of all abilities, from complete beginners to more experienced artists who want to hone their figure drawing skills. The session are fully supervised, and a professional model holds a variety of poses for participants to capture on paper. It is an informal and friendly group, in a beautiful and inspiring setting.


Book Binding

This course explored the concertina fold as a basis for making and creating book structures. Participants were encouraged to play with different kinds of paper, textures and colour, and created several books throughout the day to take home with you.


Your Life, Your Landscape

Participants were invited to bring memorabilia significant to their own lives and incorporate these into a multimedia piece of art with personal significance.
