BODY, MIND & SPIRIT

We run weekly yoga sessions on Monday mornings in Hall Barn. The classes are open to all abilities, and consist of gentle stretching and simple postures, breathing techniques, relaxation and meditation. £6

There are a variety of meditation sessions throughout the year, both in the form of retreats and regular short classes open to all. Bleddfa is ideally suited to meditation practice - it offers a quiet and secluded container, a beautiful landscape, and an atmosphere that somehow contrives to be both calm and spiritually nourishing.

The Shambala retreat attracts participants from all over the world; this year people came from as far afield as Stockholm, Vienna and Cairo! This 9-day long retreat is led by Peter Conradi, who has over 25 years experience of leading retreats, and Jim O’Neill, a psychotherapist and student and long-term student of Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche.

The Ziji Dathun retreat is a month-long retreat held in November 2017, consisting of individual meditation instruction, guided meditation, contemplation, and dharma talks. It is suitable for people aged 18 – 35 years old, of any ability.

Once a month (usually the last Saturday of the month), Peter Conradi and James O’Neill, both experienced teachers of meditation for many years, lead a 90 minute meditation session, suitable for both beginner and experienced meditators. Lee Moore leads a monthly (usually on a Friday morning) Silence and Stillness session. This is an hour of exactly what it says on the tin; find inner calm and power from practicing silence and stillness.

WALKING

The Centre is an ideal start/finish point for walkers and hikers to explore the Radnorshire Hills and nearby forests. There is parking available, and muddy boots and well-behaved dogs are welcomed in the café and gardens.

There is a tradition of an annual Bleddfa walk in the spring; a moderately-challenging circular walk starting at the Centre, following footpaths to explore the local countryside, and ending up back at the Centre to a well-earned cup of coffee and some cake.

The Ziji Dathun Retreat

The Ziji Dathun retreat is a month-long retreat held in the autumn, consisting of individual meditation instruction, guided meditation, contemplation, and dharma talks. It is suitable for people aged 18 – 35 years old, of any ability. Both these retreats incorporate guided meditation instruction, individual interviews, walking meditation, contemplation, and dharma talks. Meals are eaten “Oryoki style”, a form of silent, mindful eating stemming from the Zen tradition. Feedback from participants include: “A very powerful retreat, extremely well-held by staff, in a most beautiful setting” and “It still has an effect on me. It has given me this inner energy, which often is even more essential than ‘outer’ energy.”
