THE WRITTEN WORD
From poetry readings to practical workshops, The Bleddfa Centre runs regular events for both readers and writers, focusing on the written word in all its forms. We plan to develop this strand further in the near future, so please watch this space.
You’ve Written a Book: Now What?”, our sell-out information day for writers, focused on routes to publication, including how to get a literary agent, what publishers want, and the increasingly popular business of self-publishing. We also heard from KJ Whittaker, Helena Atlee and Tom Bullough; three successful authors based in Wales about their own paths to publication.
We welcomed renowned documentary film-maker turned poet, Jonathan Stedall, to be interviewed about, and read from his most recent collection, “No Shore Too Far”.
Local poetry group Marches Poets have also run events at Bleddfa, including a writing day entitled, “When the imagination finds its home” led by poet and memoirist, Roger Garfitt; and a poetry and prose event, “Times of Light and Times of Shade.
OUR READING GROUP

Recent books discussed include Sapiens by Yuval Noah Harari, The Portrait of a Lady by Henry James, The Shepherd’s Life by James Rebanks, and Nature Cure by Richard Mabey.
